well, i have nothing better to do before i start to do my daily routine, (that and i'm taking a break from drawing today and maybe going to do some Gmod later) so i'm gonna write this.

splatoon, some people like it, some people hate it, some people may think it's overrated, but i'll tell you the reason why i love this series.

as you may know, recently i somehow got into splatoon, i noticed it before but never really cared for it heck i even posted that inkling vs gooper blooper pic saying that "i would never get into this game" , but my friend :iconbrightsworth-heroes:, we talked about stuff and i eventually bought the game. when i played it i loved it (except for the fact no matter how good you are you can still go on a huge losing streak because of the luck of the teams you get from random matchups)
but unlike most splatoon fans, i love the game not because of the gameplay (i do like the gameplay though also i like the fact that it may be a shooter but all it's weapons don't involve only guns, there are much more variety in weaponry), but because of the effort and lore put into this game, so this game starts out with you and the story of the great zapfish stolen but why? only one answer, the evil octarians. after playing though story mode and obtaning scrolls you realize that the octarians aren't evil, they just are suffering from a huge power crisis and their way of life is declining, it seems like the inkings are trying to drive the octarians to extinction. as the hero obtains more scrolls they play realizes that the stupidity of humans (war, pollution, destruction of nature) an inevitably wipe themselves out. as the seas begin to rise due to either global warming or the sun getting hotter over time, remember this takes place on earth wayyyyyyy in the future. the squids and octopuses haul themselves out of the water and started to evolve into humanoid beings (along with a few other sealife) as the ancestors of inklings and octolings got less and less dependent on water their body structure also changed, they eventually became beings of liquid, therefore water (and ink color that is not their own) damages and/or kills them. and because octopus(in this case the giant pacific octopus line) since they were less aggressive (most squids tends to be more aggressive than most octopus, octopuses are very shy creatures) the squids due to their aggressiveness eventually made the inklings and octolings to fight over their territory however, as the giant pacific octopus line evolved another very small yet familiar octopus species crawled out of the oceans and they were the blue ringed octopus, they're very very deadly and their venom could kill in minutes, but as they evolved into the blue ringed octolings, they generally got more aggressive and their venom got stronger due to the fact they needed as good defense due to their small size and often dominated over their dominant cousins. back to the game, when the player gets all the scrolls they can put together all the pieces of the lore and and see what happened in the past. that and also judd's backstory. and so much more! when the player defeats the final boss and sticks around for a while the player may notice faint screams of pain and agony, what could this mean? as this was interpreted to the player, most people were to see this as just your average everyday creepypasta material, but i found as to why this happens, i explain it more in my headcanon in this story

also when you see the details they put into the other characters, you can also see why i like this series, anemones and clownfish symbiotic relationship, a urchin and snails in a predator prey relationship.
as you see, i'm not just you average sploon player, i do alot of research finding cool secrets, finding hidden stuff that may tell about something cool  and or disturbing, i got into the series not because of the gameplay itself but because of it's lore.
and besides, i always knew squids and octopuses were to take over the world when humanity vanished, but who knew they're look kinda like us and so adorable :3

well until nextime,
this is rotom, and i'll see you next time :iconrotommowtom:
